What is Moreton Traditional Sing?
Welcome to this rather special gathering at Moreton in Marsh, where we are celebrating traditional singing from the length and breadth of the country.
Over a year ago Will Noble was toying with the idea of how to get together the singers he had enjoyed meeting at festivals around the country over the decades. It seemed, he thought, as though there never would be a time when they could all be together, unless we made it happen. So, here we are – a fantastic chance for people to meet and listen to the end of a generation of people who learnt songs from where they lived, to hear from collectors and to find out what happened since. We hope you will enjoy the smaller concert-party sessions and that you are inspired by the singers. We hope you enjoy the concerts, talks and presentations, workshops and folk choir and that you find the weekend a source of inspiration and a chance to meet new people and enjoy songs. Most of all, we hope that you bring with your own songs to share: we have hours of singaround opportunities programmed!
The Traditional Sing is in the first weekend in March each year.
Thanks
